The purpose of the fitness instructor role will be to motivate and inspire our members to achieve their goals, deliver group fitness, and you will also have the opportunity to deliver Personal Training sessions. Using your expert knowledge, you will provide our members with safe and effective inductions, programmes and programme reviews that will keep our members engaged and wanting more.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team who are focused on making a difference to our local areas.

The Role

As a Clean and Green Operative you will work as part of a team to provide a high quality environmental maintenance service, including both planned and reactive work for all aspects of street cleansing and grounds maintenance functions. 

You will drive a range of Council owned vehicles including vans, tipper vans, link tips and sweepers. In addition to towing trailers commensurate with licence certification and appropriate training. You will also use a full range of handheld plant with walk behind plant and machinery including ride on and pedestrian mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, again commensurate with certification and/or successful completion of appropriate training.

About you

You will hold a full UK Driving licence (Licence B and B1), have experience of working as part of a manual operational service and the ability to undertake tasks as directed to a high standard and be committed to health and safety and adherence to policy and procedures. Ideally you will have experience of operating commercial handheld grounds maintenance and street cleansing equipment e.g mowers, strimmer, hedge trimmers and blowers, however this is not essential as training will be given.

Hours of work 

24 hours per week to be worked flexibly and will be based on the following schedule: Thursday 4pm to 7pm, Friday 1pm to 5pm, Saturday 7am to 7pm and Sunday 7am to 1pm.  You will also be required to work bank holidays and outside of these hours on occasions to meet the needs of the service.

As a Building Inspector, you will play a key role in delivering the Council’s Building Control functions. This includes:

• Acting as a professional lead on Building Regulations, Building Act, and Building Safety Act matters.
• Managing your own caseload for plan checking and site inspections.

About You!

We are looking for someone who is:

• Qualified and Registered:
  • Associate member of a professional institute such as RICS or CABE (Building Control).
  • Registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Building Inspector (minimum Class 2D), working towards Class 2F.
• Experienced:
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Act, and associated legislation.
  • Experience in plan checking, site inspections, and enforcement within Building Control.
• Skilled:
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to engage with stakeholders and the public.
  • Problem-solving ability and willingness to champion change.
• Technically Competent:
