The postholder will:

• Lead on the  commissioning  and management of all  procurement and consultant activities on behalf of the Estates and Facilities Management Service. 
• Lead on the development of and delivery of the Corporate Asset Management plan.
• Maintain appropriate strategic partnerships across relevant internal and external service areas e.g. planning, economic development, neighbouring authorities, ensuring synergy of strategic commercial and community asset  issues in the delivery of asset management initiatives.
• Contribute to place shaping and the creation of a vibrant and profitable commercial and community asset portfolio by using evidence and intelligence to proactively undertake options-based asset reviews
• Maintain high standards of the delivery of estates property services in a fast-paced  environment with frequently changing circumstances and conflicting demands.

About you

• Educated to degree level
• Ideally hold membership of CIH, RICS, CIEH or other relevant professional body
• Experience in a commercial property, regeneration setting
• Experience in the formulation of corporate asset management policies and strategies and evidence of contribution to corporate goals. Able to propose, develop and implement strategies and plans
• Experience in working on projects with partners from other organisations in accordance with the ethos of One Public Estate. Able to make effective links with and involve key individuals and organisations to promote the council's housing interests and secure resources for the council
• Experience in the preparation and submission of property related tender specifications
• Experience and an understanding of commercial property law, including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
• Confident team player, able to work under own initiative.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team who are focused on making a difference to our local areas.

The Role

As a Clean and Green Operative you will work as part of a team to provide a high quality environmental maintenance service, including both planned and reactive work for all aspects of street cleansing and grounds maintenance functions. 

You will drive a range of Council owned vehicles including vans, tipper vans, link tips and sweepers. In addition to towing trailers commensurate with licence certification and appropriate training. You will also use a full range of handheld plant with walk behind plant and machinery including ride on and pedestrian mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, again commensurate with certification and/or successful completion of appropriate training.

About you

You will hold a full UK Driving licence (Licence B and B1), have experience of working as part of a manual operational service and the ability to undertake tasks as directed to a high standard and be committed to health and safety and adherence to policy and procedures. Ideally you will have experience of operating commercial handheld grounds maintenance and street cleansing equipment e.g mowers, strimmer, hedge trimmers and blowers, however this is not essential as training will be given.

Hours of work 

24 hours per week to be worked flexibly and will be based on the following schedule: Thursday 4pm to 7pm, Friday 1pm to 5pm, Saturday 7am to 7pm and Sunday 7am to 1pm.  You will also be required to work bank holidays and outside of these hours on occasions to meet the needs of the service.
