Do you want to help vulnerable people and prefer to work outside normal office hours? Can you operate independently and remain calm enough in a potential emergency to offer verbal reassurance to callers?

If so, then Homecare Link would like to hear from you as we are looking for an Emergency Operator. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to work in a fast-paced environment and gain skills in health and social care and emergency call handling.

We deliver a 24/7 Emergency Service for 8,500 vulnerable people across the North West to help them live safely and securely in their own home. We do this by monitoring and responding to emergency calls received through a telecare personal alarm system.

The team also takes calls for West Lancashire Borough Council's out of hours services, including homelessness and environmental health, and deals with security and fire alarms for commercial clients.

As an Emergency Operator, you would be expected to respond to calls quickly and efficiently, ensuring that an appropriate course of action is taken. Calls from service users can range from them seeking advice or reassurance to them needing emergency assistance. You’ll be able to answer telephone calls in a friendly and understanding manner. With the ability to keep a clear head, you’ll establish exactly what help is needed.

The Emergency Response Centre operates 24 hours a day / 365 days a year so weekend and public holiday working will be required. The shifts varies from 7am to 3.20pm, 3pm to 11:20pm and 11pm until 7.20am.

Full training and support will be provided. If this sounds like the right role for you then please get in touch. We are seeking someone who is flexible and is willing to work at short notice.
