An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Member Services Team for an enthusiastic apprentice who is looking to develop a career within the Council.

You will undertake general clerical and administrative duties as part of a busy team and will assist in servicing meetings of the Council, Cabinet, Committees, Sub-Committees, Working Groups and other Bodies, including the provision of support services to Members and assisting with civic and ceremonial events involving the Mayor.

The post-holder will update electronic records and input data and so a careful approach, excellent keyboard skills and experience of using Microsoft Word are essential. You will also have a minimum of Maths and English GCSE (Grade 4 – 9 i.e. C or above) or equivalent.

The apprenticeship will last for a fixed term of 22 months in which time you will commit to undertaking a Business Administration (Level 3) at West Lancashire College. This is a good opportunity to develop and learn, offering real hands on work experience, whilst accessing an appropriate training course, for which time off to attend college will be given.

Employment with the Council is not guaranteed at the end of the apprenticeship.

If you think you have the necessary skills to succeed in this role we would be delighted to hear from you.
